Entry Requirements
Degree requirements
Candidates must obtain a minimum of 168 credits and must passed all the courses either by ordinary or supplementary or special examinations. Students who were allowed to proceed to the next semester without all units should note that they will not be eligible for graduation unless they have repeated and passed such units.
Duration
The duration of the study for the Bachelor’s Degree in the Facutly of Education programmes pursued by holders of MSCE shall extend over a period of not less than four academic years: that is eight semesters of fifteen weeks each. where applicable, advanced level candidates and diploma holders shall be given
appropriate credits enabling them to complete their programme in three and two years study, respectively.
Part-time/Weekend Programmes (Degree)
Entry Requirements
Candidates with diploma in Education from a recognised university or college
Structure of the Programme Students pursuing this programme under two year training of four semesters and they should accumulate not less than 84 credits. Students are required to submit a dissertation in partial fulfillment of the degree programme and do teaching practice
DIPLOMA
A Candidate should also have a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with credit passes in 4 subjects including English and Life Skills, and an aggregate of not more than 34 points.
Structure of the Programme
This is a three years programme with a total of six semesters. To qualifiy for graduation, a candidate should accumulate not less 108 credits. Candidate is also required to submit a project and go for teaching practice
