The Catholic University of Malawi was awarded on December 29, 2023, for having worked with the university for more than a decade in various positions.
Speaking during the end-of-year get-together, the acting vice-chancellor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Wilfred Sumani SJ, said the university looks forward to awarding those performing well in their work positions.
Father Sumani added that the university will also strive to give good salaries to its employees to motivate them to work hard.
Among the staff who walked away with cash prizes for their long service at the university are Henry Sekeni, a network officer; Peterkin’s Banda, a medical assistant; Rose Jakin, an office assistant; and Allan Chimela, a plumber.
Established in 2004, the Catholic University of Malawi is a fast-growing and dynamic institution of higher learning accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) to offer degrees, diplomas, and certificates in various fields of learning.
The mission of the Catholic University of Malawi is to contribute to the integral development of the nation through vocational training, academic courses, and research activities that are tailored to meet the critical needs of the nation and the Church.
